New associate degree programs are slated to launch this fall at Collin College.
The new degree programs are aimed at competitive job markets, a news release states.
The specifics
The new Associate of Applied Science programs will include corresponding certificates, the release states. Programs include:
- Medical Laboratory Technology: Aiming to address an increasing need for health care professionals, the program will offer hands-on training and clinical experience for laboratory skills, enabling students to work in hospitals, clinics and research facilities.
- Law Enforcement—Public Administration and Supervision: The program will build on existing basic police office courses available at the college and provide a focus on leadership, administration and community relations. The program will offer both an associate degree track as well as a Level 2 certification.
- Cosmetology: The program, which will include both an associate degree and a certificate option, will include comprehensive training in hair, skin and nail care as well as professional development. The program will prepare students for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Cosmetology Operator License exam, and also includes continuing education opportunities for licensed cosmetologists.
