Texans Credit Union, which was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Richardson, is slated to open a new location early 2027 in McKinney. This will be the credit union’s first new branch in almost two decades, a Texans Credit Union representative said.
“The new branch will help the credit union better serve employees of Raytheon, a major employer in the city,” the representative said in an email. “It also builds on a five-year agreement that Texans entered into in 2023 to become the exclusive financial institution for McKinney ISD Athletics.”
The not-for-profit banking center offers a variety of services including loans, checking, savings, credit cards and more. Another Texans Credit Union is open in McKinney on Hardin Boulevard.
Going forward
The representative said the new McKinney branch will be the first of several new branches as Texans plans to open a new branch every 1-3 years through the DFW metroplex.
"McKinney continues to be one of the fastest-growing areas in North Texas, and this new location reflects our commitment to meeting members where they live, work and raise their families,” Texans Credit Union president and CEO David Frazier said in an email. “As we enter this next phase, we’re pairing continued investment in digital innovation with thoughtful branch growth to ensure members have both the convenience of modern banking and the personal relationships that define who we are.”
By the numbers
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the 3,600 square-foot stand-alone building, which will be located at the intersection of West University Drive and Bois D Arc Road, has an estimated construction cost of $3 million. Construction is scheduled for completion in October.
