Why are you running for McKinney City Council?

After living, working and serving McKinney in multiple capacities for 20 years, I now have the time and experience needed to understand the needs of its citizens and the courage to act on their behalf.

What issues do you feel the city will face within the next few years?

The next few years we will face the following issues:

• Property tax challenge
• Transportation
• Imbalance of business vs. property tax
• Downtown parking garage

If elected, how would you address those issues?

• [I would] collaborate with the state Legislature and constituents for an optimum tax solution
• Seek state and federal funding to assist our budget
• Tax imbalance—pursue community-smart business opportunities
• Identify location and funding in order that we might quickly benefit from sales tax dollars that support our multiple needs

What qualifications do you possess that make you a prime candidate for the position?

I am a McKinney business owner and property owner with a long track record of consensus building and looking out for others.
