Mom and Popcorn celebrates 20 years in downtown McKinney

Mom and Popcorn, a local sweets store in downtown McKinney, celebrated its 20th anniversary on July 22, co-owner Wendy Rodgers said.

The store sells more than 50 flavors of popcorn that are made in-house, Rodgers said. Flavors include blueberry, buffalo ranch, caramel and kettle, according to its website. The store also sells limited edition flavors that are changed throughout the year.

Mom and Popcorn also sells nostalgic candy, vintage sodas, fudge, truffles and macarons, Rodgers said.

“We have something for every shopper in downtown McKinney,” she said.

The store first opened in 2006, Rodgers said. Wendy and Dennis Rodgers, her husband, have owned the shop since 2018.

“It’s very exciting to know that something that’s been around that long continues to be of interest to people,” she said.
