The new 5,000-square-foot Chick-fil-A at 200 Ed Schmidt Blvd., Hutto, is expected to open May 16, according to Kirk Thompson, owner and general manager of the restaurant.

The fast-food chicken restaurant will offer indoor seating for 108 and outside seating for 20, Thompson said. Other features include a two-story playground and two drive-thru ordering lanes that will be able to handle more than 180 cars an hour, he said.

"We’ve been eager to serve this particular area of Hutto for quite some time, and we have found a great location in an area that will best serve the community," Thompson said in an emailed statement to Community Impact Newspaper. "We look forward to serving our future guests delicious food in a welcoming restaurant environment."

Chick-fil-A Hutto is expected to create about 90 new jobs. Full-time and part-time positions are available for day and night shifts, Thompson said. Positions include hospitality, catering, cashiers and food production with opportunities for advancement into leadership roles.
