Fairway Drive over Grapevine Dam reopened July 25 nearly a year after it closed following a shallow slide at the dam in which dirt from the road separated and slid down the embankment, creating hazardous conditions. The Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District announced the road's opening on its Facebook page, stating: "Micro seal and re-striping of Fairway Drive across the Grapevine Lake Dam are complete. Downstream embankment slope repairs are complete and the dam continues to function as intended providing flood risk management, water supply and recreation opportunities." According to the post, the city of Grapevine will restrict all commercial truck traffic on Fairway Drive from Flower Mound city limits to SH-26.
