Why are you running for office?
I want to continue serving HD-65 after our landmark 88th Texas legislative session accomplishments, including the largest property tax relief package in Texas history, over $6 billion in border security funding, fewer regulations on small-business owners and much more. We must build further on these policy successes for Denton County.
What are the biggest challenges facing your district?
Fentanyl-related deaths and overdoses, and other criminal influences impacting our children and most vulnerable, are most urgent. Not one more Texas teacher should have to administer Narcan in the classroom; not one more child should die from these poisons. And we have to give Texans immediate relief from inflation.
How do you plan to address these issues?
I’ve proven my ability to address these heartbreaking issues, with a clear track record in Austin of fighting for legislation to secure the porous Texas border, and crack down on drug cartels using I-35 as their personal express lane. My plan: Continue what I just spent the 88th Legislature doing.
What would your top priorities be if you are elected?
Continue working arm in arm with other legislators, and our partners in Operation Lone Star, at the Texas border to do what the federal government will not; continue protecting babies and children, small businesses, retired teachers, farmers, religious freedom, property values and 2A rights for Texans.
