Coppell City Council approved plans for a mixed-use development during its Jan. 10 meeting.
Three office and retail buildings will be constructed at the northeast corner of SH 121 and North Coppell Road. The site was originally intended to be a storage facility with retail space, but plans did not materialize, and the property was sold in 2019, according to the agenda item.
Each building will be two stories and 9,000 square feet with an overall total of 23,000 square feet for office space and 4,000 square feet for retail. The northern portion of the site is in the floodplain and is not developable.
There are many trees at the site. The majority of the trees along the perimeter will remain, while interior trees will need to be removed to allow for the buildings and parking, Senior Planner Mary Paron-Boswell said. The trees in the floodplain will not be removed, and approximately 52 new trees will be planted.
