Survey: Coppell residents want more restaurants, community events in Old Town

Community members want to see more investment in Old Town Coppell, according to feedback from a recent survey.

• Mayor Wes Mays and Coppell City Council hosted a community forum about the future of Old Town on March 30. Attendees provided ideas and suggestions for the area, which council wanted to further explore, according to the city.
• The Old Town survey launched in May. The online survey asked for anonymous input.
• Participants were not required to live in Old Town but were required to have a Coppell address. Those who live in the Cypress Waters community were not able to answer survey questions.

• The city received 1,972 responses. The survey measured several topics, such as frequency of visits, thoughts about the area and what residents would like to see in the future.
• Regarding investments to consider, 78% of respondents said they would like to see more restaurants in Old Town.
• The desire for more nightlife activities, such as bars, microbreweries and live music, was the second most popular request.
• Respondents would also like to have more community events, such as plays, concerts, fairs and weekend markets.
