Ahead of dangerous weather conditions, the city of Leander announced new dates for the ArtFest and the Bluegrass & Folk Festival.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for much of Central Texas—including Leander—beginning Wednesday evening through at least 7 p.m. on Friday.
Measuring the impact
The flood watch warns that “life-threatening” flooding could occur from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 7 p.m. Friday. While 2-3 inches of rain are forecast for the Leander-Liberty Hill area, the agency said isolated pockets could reach 6-8 inches.
The NWS said “life-threatening flash flooding” could occur within this timeframe, especially near low-lying areas and bodies of water.
