City Park to undergo upgrades; new pool opens Memorial Day

These upgrades would come to the park through a renovation project, the planning for which began in late March, that aims to “amplify and unify the park’s existing amenities,” Higuera said.

The city conducted meetings with park stakeholders and launched a survey to receive feedback on the park’s amenities. Higuera said while the survey was scheduled to close June 1, it will likely be extended to garner more responses.

Engineering consultant Kimley- Horn will use the feedback to develop design options, which it will present in late June or early July.

Higuera said the upgrades will be done in phases. The cost and timeline for construction are not yet known as it is still early in the project.

Liberty Hill Swim Center

The city of Liberty Hill will host a grand opening event for its new public pool June 3 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Pool amenities include:

• Spraying water features
• Tanning ledge
• Lounge chairs
• Lap lanes
• Lifeguards on duty during operational hours
