With summer in full swing, Leander and Liberty Hill residents can expect an event for everyone in the family. Here’s what to keep an eye out for this July and August.
The Market LHTX: Summer Nights Market
The Market LHTX will come out as the sun sets this month. Instead of the usual morning markets at Noble Elementary, families can enjoy a sunset at District 29 with live music, local vendors, food trucks, dancing and activities for children.

Leander Library and Leander Animal Services’ Tails & Tales StorytimeThe Leander Public Library partners with Leander Animal Services each month for a special storytime event featuring critters. Children can listen to stories and meet animals such as tree frogs and tarantulas.
Liberty Hill Football Boosters Moms vs. SonsTo support the Liberty Hill football team, the Liberty Hill Football Boosters will be hosting a “Moms vs. Sons” event. Mothers, aunts, grandmothers and other women are welcome to participate in the event. Tickets include a light dinner and a participant t-shirt.
Leander Library’s Wizards & WhimsyWhether they're a first-year Gryffindor or seventh-year Slytherin, Leander residents of all ages are invited to an event inspired by Harry Potter. The first two hours of the event will feature a potions class and a wand-making activity for children. A teen hour will begin at 6 p.m., while activities for adults will begin at 7 p.m. Teens and adults are welcome to join a "Family Feud"-style event on Harry Potter trivia.
ZZ NationThe ZZ Top cover band will play a free show at The Fieldhouse. Their set will include classic songs from the iconic Texas blues rock act such as “Sharp Dressed Man” and “La Grange.”
Summer Tribute Series at Volente Beach: HeartbyrneHeartbyrne, a Talking Heads tribute band, will take the stage at Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark. The event features a general admissions section as well as VIP seating on the patio.
Cedar Park RodeoThe H-E-B Center hosts two nights of professional rodeo events, including bull riding, calf roping, frisbee dogs and more.
Karaoke Night at Agape BBQWhile Agape BBQ features a calendar full of live music, this event will allow community members to take the stage. The restaurant, which serves classic Central Texas barbecue, hosts karaoke nights periodically throughout the year.

Austin Steam Train Wild West RiderThis three-and-a-half-hour cowboy-themed railroad journey through the Hill Country begins and ends in Cedar Park. Riders are encouraged to come in costume for a 44-mile trip in restored vintage railcars pulled by a diesel locomotive. The Austin Steam Train Association is hosting themed rides every weekend throughout the summer.
