Leander Summer Reading Program
The Leander Public Library's reading challenge runs June 1 through July 31 for kids, teens and adults with milestone prizes and grand prize bundles.
Juneteenth Block Party
In collaboration with the city of Leander and the Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission, Cedar Park commemorates Juneteenth with a free block party. The family-friendly evening features a performance by Soulful Soundz Party Band, food trucks, craft vendors, bounce houses, pool and splash pad access and a basketball tournament.
Dadfest 2026
Dads Assisting Dads, a Cedar Park, Leander and Liberty Hill fatherhood nonprofit with more than 3,400 members, hosts its annual community festival to celebrate its transition to a registered 501(c)(3). The free, family-friendly event features food trucks, local vendors and family activities, with more than 500 attendees last year.
Jaws on the Water
Volente Beach Resort hosts its annual outdoor screening of "Jaws" on Lake Travis, where moviegoers can watch from the water on tubes under the stars on a giant outdoor screen. Scuba divers lurk below throughout the film for a playful scare, and Jaws-themed cocktails, food specials and themed photo ops round out the evening.
Leander Loop
The first-ever Leander Loop is bringing local businesses together for a fun summer shopping experience across the city. Visitors can explore participating shops, enjoy local food and drinks, discover new favorites and support small businesses while checking in at each stop for giveaways, perks and prizes throughout the day. Participating businesses include Lioness Books, Casa Costa Bake Shop, Wildfire Artisans, Obsidian Brewery, Leander Nutrition and Turquoise Peacock Boutique.
Liberty Hill Independence Day Spectacular
Liberty Hill's annual Fourth of July celebration brings food trucks, live music, kids activities—including an obstacle course, train rides and a Velcro wall—and community contests such as the homemade apple pie competition, watermelon seed spitting and hot dog eating. The evening ends with a fireworks show, with free shuttles running from Liberty Hill High School.
Liberty Fest
Leander's largest annual event, held lakeside the night before Independence Day, features live music, food vendors, a Kids Zone with inflatables and a fireworks finale over the water. This year's edition is the biggest to date, with the City Council approving expanded programming. Parking for the event will be at Glenn High School.
Mermaid Storytime at Little Splashers
A real-life mermaid joins Leander's Little Splashers pool program to read stories, sing songs and swim alongside young guests in this whimsical family morning hosted by Leander Parks & Recreation.
Family Tiki Time
Leander Parks & Recreation transforms Robin Bledsoe Pool into a festive island-themed evening with decorations, games and music as part of National Parks & Recreation Month.
Cardboard Regatta
Leander Parks & Recreation hosts a creative cardboard boat race at Robin Bledsoe Pool with age categories for kids, teens and adults. Music, games, awards and prizes are included; pre-registration is required with a minimum of five boats needed.
