Several western Travis County residents struggling to get water under boil notices

Water service is interrupted for the district until power returns, the district said in a release. Following 36 hours without power, WCID 18 has been told by Austin Energy that power would be restored by 6 p.m. Feb. 3.

While water tanks provided water throughout the storm, reserves are now empty, the district said in a release. Once service is restored, District 18 customers will be under a boil-water notice that will last until test results show the water is safe, which usually takes 24 hours, the utility said.

WCID 18 includes several neighborhoods in Westlake off North Cuernavaca Drive and River Hills Road, including Seven Oaks, Westridge Estates, Austin Lake Hills, Deer Creek and others.

Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 18

As of 11 a.m. Feb. 3, Bella Colinas and Terra Colinas should have water moving west into the area in the afternoon, and pressures should start building. The neighborhoods near Bee Cave have been undergoing water outages and low water pressures due to a power outage at a nearby water treatment facility, according to Crossroads Utility Services. Residents are under a boil-water notice and will continue to be once water service returns.

Lazy 9 municipal utility districts 1A, 1B

Residents of Sweetwater in Lazy 9 municipal utility districts 1A and 1B are also experiencing low pressures following a power outage at West Travis County Public Utility Agency facilities. As of 11 a.m. on Feb. 3, water is moving west, and pressure should be restored in the afternoon. After water service is returned, customers will be under a boil water notice. Residents will be contacted through phone calls and texts once normal water use is permitted, according to Crossroads Utility Services.

Travis County municipal utility districts 11-13

MUDs 12, 13 and part of 11 are experiencing water outages and low pressures due to a power outage at West Travis County Public Utility Agency facilities. As of 11 a.m. Feb. 3, water is moving west and pressure should be restored in the afternoon.

Service will be restored once the plant is operational, and afterward customers will be on a boil-water notice until notified otherwise by phone calls or texts. The portions of MUD 11 included are those not part of the Lakeway MUD.

MUDS 11, 12 and 13 include many of the neighborhoods off Highlands Boulevard in Lakeway, such as Rough Hollow, Canyon Ridge and The Woodlands.
