The Westlake High School and Eanes ISD community will celebrate its graduating class of 2020 with a series of socially distant events May 28.
The previously scheduled ceremony set to take place at Austin’s Frank C. Erwin Jr. Center has been postponed until Aug. 7 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the district has arranged for celebrations to honor its students.
Seniors will participate in a drive-thru event at Westlake High School from 5:30-6:30 p.m., when teachers and staff from all nine EISD campuses will salute them on their last evening as a WHS student.
Following the drive-thru event, families are invited to participate in a virtual commencement ceremony, which will go live at 7 p.m. on EISD’s and WHS’ websites. The ceremony will feature prerecorded speeches and videos.
