Lake Travis ISD has begun the search process for a new superintendent following the retirement announcement of Lake Travis ISD Superintendent Brad Lancaster on Oct. 18.
Lancaster, who has been with the district since 2012 announced his plans for retirement after 37 years of service in public education. His final day of work is scheduled for June, according to Lancaster’s letter to LTISD parents and the community.
The letter also stated that Lancaster will aid the board, senior staff and the Educational Leadership Team in the transition.
During a special called meeting Jan. 22, the board of trustees voted to execute a contract with Thompson & Horton LLP to aid in the search process. The district previously worked with the Houston-based law firm during the hiring of Lancaster, according to Marco Alvarado, LTISD's director of communications media and community relations.
