City of Austin Proposition 1

$720 million bond expenditure to fund transportation and mobility improvements. If approved, the proposition would fund:

$101 million for regional mobility projects

• $46 million for improvements to the Loop 360 intersections at Westlake Drive, Courtyard Drive, RR 2222, Lakewood Drive, Spicewood Springs Road/Bluffstone Drive
• $17 million for improvements on Spicewood Springs Road east of Loop 360
• $30 million for improvements to Anderson Mill Road from Spicewood Parkway to US 183, the intersection of RR 620 at RR 2222 and Parmer Lane between SH 45 N. and Brushy Creek Road
• $8 million for replacement of Old Bee Caves Road bridge over Williamson Creek

$482 million to implement corridor mobility studies and identify short-, medium- and long-term transportation improvements

• North Lamar Boulevard—from US 183 to Howard Lane
• Burnet Road—from Koenig Lane to MoPac
• Airport Boulevard—from North Lamar Boulevard to US 183
• East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/FM 969—from US 183 to Decker Lane
• South Lamar Boulevard—from Riverside Drive to Ben White Boulevard/West Hwy. 290
• East Riverside Drive—from I-35 to Hwy. 71
• Guadalupe Street—from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to West 29th Street
• Develop corridor mobility report for Slaughter Lane and/or William Cannon Drive
• Develop preliminary engineering reports for additional corridors

$137 million for local mobility projects

• $37.5 million for improvements to city sidewalks and to conform with Austin’s 2016 Sidewalk Master Plan/Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan
• $27.5 million for improvements to school routes including sidewalks, traffic-calming devices, protected bicycle lanes and urban trails
• $26 million for improvements to urban trails using the urban trails master plan
• $20 million for improvements to bikeways using the bicycle master plan
• $11 million for improvements to city streets, including William Cannon Drive (railroad overpass), Falwell Lane, Brodie Lane, Circle S Road, Cooper Lane, FM 1626, Johnny Morris Road, Latta Drive/Brush Country, Ross Road and Rutledge Spur
• $15 million to implement projects that are aimed at reducing accident fatalities, including intersection reconfiguration, median modification, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, and signals
