Paw Pact Rescue
Founding Director and Chair Rachel Wagner said the Lake Houston area-based animal welfare organization is always in need of volunteers. The nonprofit rescues, rehabilitates and finds forever homes for animals in need.
Causes
Holocaust Remembrance Association
HRA 18 is dedicated to building bridges of understanding, healing and hope through remembrance and education about the Holocaust. Rozalie Jerome, national director of March of Remembrance Texas and founder of the Holocaust Garden of Hope, said volunteers play a vital role in helping preserve history, support community events and share stories that inspire compassion and action.
Inspire ND
The Kingwood-based nonprofit’s mission is to create truly inclusive communities for people with neurodiversity through education and engagement. Erica Johnston, director of development and outreach, said the organization uses volunteers during community outreach events, including autism-friendly bingo, Halloween BOO Bash, and Pictures with Santa & Winter Wonderland.
Myocarditis Foundation
The organization aims to raise awareness of myocarditis—the inflammation of the heart’s muscular wall—which, while rare, can be deadly if left untreated. Jared Barton, assistant operations and public relations manager, said the best way to support the cause is by helping spread awareness in your community.
The Village Centers
The nonprofit creates inclusive opportunities for people with disabilities and works in partnerships to empower youth and their families to build brighter futures. Executive Director Jessica Morales said the organization relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission and there are many ways to have an impact on a Villager’s life.

Friends of the Library Kingwood
The nonprofit organization’s mission is to support the Kingwood Branch Library, FOLK President Tammy Ray said.
Precinct 3 Volunteering with Community Centers
Eight community centers in Harris County are operated by Precinct 3 with an additional center opening in 2026. These centers offer residents of all ages group activities, fitness classes, educational seminars and social support.

Revolutionary Education
The local educational nonprofit is dedicated to inspiring the next generation with educational, patriotic events about the American Revolution. Volunteers are needed to help prepare for and lead fun, interactive events for schools, museums and parks.
Environment
Precinct 3 Volunteer Program with Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens
This 400-acre outdoor garden and arboretum offers the public and scientific community a place to explore over 7,000 species of plants. Mercer has a variety of indoor and outdoor opportunities available to volunteers ages 16 and older.
Precinct 3 Volunteer Program with Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center
This 323-acre nature preserve features 8 miles of pedestrian trails, playground, nature center, replica 1830s Homestead and Akokisa Native village—offering free education programs and events thanks to the help of volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are available at designated times each week.
Trees for Kingwood
The nonprofit is dedicated to restoring Kingwood as “The Livable Forest.” To date, the organization has planted 2,500 trees and co-sponsors council member Fred Flickinger’s Median Madness vine clearing efforts on Kingwood medians.
Human services
Family Promise of Lake Houston
The nonprofit seeks to help families as they break the cycle of homelessness. Volunteers can support the mission by providing meals for families, providing support on campus, and assisting in career training.
J’s House
The Christian-based nonprofit provides transitional housing and therapeutic care to children in the foster care system, President and board Chair Adam Pieknik said.
Youth sports
Humble Atascocita Baseball Association
The community-based, nonprofit youth baseball organization is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and competitive environment for players of all ages and skill levels, President Kayla Schoolman said. Fall registration opens Nov. 24.
Lake Houston Family YMCA
This local YMCA serves the Humble and Kingwood community through programs and social services designed to help individuals and families learn, grow and thrive.
