Humble sees drop in property, violent crime in early 2026

The city of Humble has seen a drop in both property and violent crimes in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2025, per city data.

Mayor Norman Funderburk provided updates on the crime statistics during the council’s April 9 meeting.

Funderburk noted the number of property crimes committed during the first quarter of 2026 came in at 77, a nearly 37% drop from the 122 property crimes committed during the first quarter of 2025.

Additionally, the department saw drops in crime rates in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2025 in the following categories:

• Burglary of a motor vehicle incidents fell by 47.2%, dropping from 72 to 38 instances
• Burglary fell by 47.8%, dropping from 23 to 12 incidents
• Aggravated assault fell by 28.6%, dropping from 14 to 10 incidents
• Violent crimes fell by 4%, dropping from 25 to 24 incidents

Funderburk touted the work of the Humble Police Department for the reduced crime rates.

“I’m very proud of the work that’s been done by the department,” Funderburk said. “We’re very pleased with the work the men and women are doing out there keeping our streets safe and keeping our residents safe.”
