Humble City Council members authorized a one-time payment of $80,000 to the Humble Museum on Aug. 22 in an effort to provide continuous support for restoration and tourism initiatives by the museum.
The backstory
Originally opened in 1976, the Humble Museum has underwent multiple expansions and renovations before finally moving to the unused band hall at the Charles Bender High School in November 2020.
According to previous Community Impact reporting, the city provided over $520,000 for renovations to the museum as part of the move, and has allocated funding each year since 2020 to aid museum operations.
