Brightspeed to add 21K locations to high-speed fiber internet service in Humble

On April 9, national fiber broadband builder Brightspeed and city of Humble officials celebrated the expansion of the company’s high-speed fiber internet service in the area, according to an April 9 news release from the company.

Two-minute impact

Work on a project to expand Brightspeed service to 21,000 additional locations across Humble is underway and expected to wrap up by this summer, a company spokesperson confirmed via email April 10. Internet access will then be available to purchase for residences and businesses.

“As a Brightspeed Fiber Internet customer, I know first-hand the impact that high-speed connectivity can have on local businesses like mine,” Darian Ortiz, owner of The Rowdy Chick, a boutique in downtown Humble, said in a statement. “Whether it’s processing transactions, communicating with customers or managing online orders, a strong and reliable internet connection is a crucial asset to local entrepreneurs who are already investing so much into their businesses and community.”

Brightspeed also donated $2,500 to the Humble ISD Education Foundation at the event, per the release.

Brightspeed offers internet across the Midwest, South and East Coast, according to the company’s website. More than 17,000 families and businesses in Harris County have access to Brightspeed’s network, per the release.
