Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood is undergoing a project to add and enhance space for the church's youth and adult ministries, Director of Communications Brian Fisher confirmed via email March 9.

Church officials broke ground on the project in August and construction is expected to wrap up this summer. Upon completion, Fisher said the expansion project will add a new 10,000-square-foot, two-story building featuring:

  • Five new youth classrooms
  • A youth gathering space
  • Seven new adult discipleship classrooms
  • Additional storage space for all church ministries
The project will also include improvements and renovations to the church's existing Education Wing, which houses the church's:"Strawbridge United Methodist Church is a fully-inclusive community compelled by the love of Christ to make a difference in a world in need as a welcoming community that is accepting of every person and strives to help all find a place to connect and serve inside and outside the walls of our church building," Fisher said via email. "Our vision is simple: make sure we have room for anyone and everyone looking to make Strawbridge UMC their church home."

Strawbridge United Methodist Church offers Sunday worship at 9 a.m. and 11:05 a.m.; Sunday school begins at 10 a.m.
