Dallas Animal Services is partnering with the Bissell Pet foundation to provide free pet adoptions through July 31.
According to a July 25 press release, the free adoption partnership is part of a nationwide effort by Bissell to offset “unprecedented overcrowding” at shelters. The Empty the Shelters event will be hosted in more than 250 shelters in 42 states.
“DAS continues to see 40-60 dogs coming into our building every day, and we desperately need the help of our community to get these deserving dogs into loving homes,” said MeLissa Webber, Dallas Animal Services director, in a statement. “We are thrilled to work with Bissell Pet Foundation to help increase adoptions and save more lives.”
According to its website, the Bissell Pet Foundation supports animal welfare organizations and provides resources to underserved communities in order to help reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues.
