Water rates in Trophy Club to increase 2% beginning Oct. 1

Water rates in Trophy Club are slated to increase about 2% in October after action from the Trophy Club Municipal Improvement District and Town Council in September.

The gist

The increase comes after Fort Worth City Council approved a raw water rate increase to wholesale customers in August. About 80% of the water supplied to Trophy Club is bought wholesale from Fort Worth, according to the TCMID’s website.

The TCMID’s board of directors approved the increase during a Sept. 18 meeting. Trophy Club’s Town Council approved an amendment on Sept. 23 establishing water fees for the town.

The TCMID delivers water to all of Trophy Club and a portion of Westlake, according to the town website. The district manages more than 83 miles of waterline throughout Trophy Club.

Breaking it down

The increase will only affect volumetric rates, Trophy Club Finance Director April Duvall said during the Sept. 23 meeting. Beginning Oct. 1, residences and businesses will pay about 2% more per 1,000 gallons of water used during the month.
