Fort Worth residents can help shape the city's transportation plan

City officials have developed the Moving Around Today survey, which Fort Worth residents can use to give their input to help guide transportation planning.

According to a news release, the survey is part of the Moving a Million project, which is the city’s effort to enhance multimodal transportation and traffic safety throughout Fort Worth. The project, which has a 25-year planning horizon, incorporates the city’s Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, which seeks to end all roadway crashes in the city that result in serious injury or death.

City documents state some of the projects in the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, which was adopted by the city in November 2019, include:

• Installing traffic calming bumps in neighborhoods that see speeding issues
• Redesigning some roadways for safety
• Investing in traffic safety programs, such as sidewalk and school zone maintenance programs

What you need to know

The news release states that residents can complete the survey online. For those residents in homeowners associations or neighborhood associations, members of the city’s transportation department are available to attend an upcoming association meeting—either in-person or virtually—about the Moving a Million project.
