Fort Worth City Council voted Oct. 15 to approve additional appropriations to close a funding gap and execute construction contracts to replace Fire Station 37.
In a nutshell
According to a city news release, the additional $3.4 million in funds were necessary due to increased construction costs. The costs associated with the project, which total $12.9 million, include funding toward:
- Demolishing the existing fire station due to age and condition
- Acquiring new land located at 10600 Alta Vista Road
- Designing and constructing a new three-bay, double-company fire station along with supporting infrastructure and equipment
