Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza offers dozens of thin-crusted artisanal pizzas and more in the Alliance area of Fort Worth.
The company was founded in Miami in 2014 by chef Renato Viola and has now grown with locations across the south in Florida, Georgia and North Texas.
All of the pizzas, either 8 inches or 13 inches, are made with natural fermented dough that sits between 72 hours and 96 hours before being used. The dough has no sugar added to it, according to the menu.
“To us, Italy is synonymous with quality,” Viola said in an email. “At Mister O1, we focus on quality as well as simplicity to create a delicious product.”
The pizza’s ingredients are imported from Italy or the business finds a local source, he added.
Meet the chef
Viola hails from Agropoli, Italy, and has been in the United States since 2010, when he received an O-1 visa. That visa is reserved for those with extraordinary artistic ability or achievement, according to the website. That, in turn, led to the name of his restaurant. He twice won the “Best Pizza in the World” in a competition in Monte Carlo, France.
Viola's award-winning pizza is what is on the menu and is called Star Luca, a star-shaped pizza folded at the edges and stuffed with ricotta cheese. The pizza has Italian sugar-free tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, spicy Calabrian salami and fresh basil.
Chris Brooke, Mister O1 Texas marketing coordinator, said the unique shape of the pizza helped Viola stand out among his competition.
His original location, in the South Beach area of Miami, is on the recommended list in the Michelin Guide. A sign of that recommendation hangs near the entrance at the Alliance area, which is in the North City mixed-use development near I-35W and North Tarrant Parkway.
Popular menu items
The Star Luca is one of the most popular menu items and is one of nine listed under extraordinary pizzas, Brooke said. Five of the nine include star-shaped crust pizza, but any pizza offering on the menu can be crafted to be star-shaped, he said.
One of the unique offerings is the Coffee Paolo pizza, which includes Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, gorgonzola bleu cheese, natural honey, Calabrian spicy salami and a dusting of ground coffee beans as a garnish.
They also serve a selection of made-to-order salads, calzoni and dessert options that include Nutella Pizza or a Nutella and banana calzone. The menu also offers red, white and sparkling Italian wines.
The details
Viola now has 21 locations in Florida, while Texas has the second most, with six. The first opened in Dallas in 2022.

The Alliance opened on June 27, 2025, while the Seventh Street area location opened Sept. 16, according to a social media post. Viola partners with John Labarge for the Texas locations. According to his LinkedIn page, Labarge was a former senior vice president of operations for the Corner Bakery Cafe.
In addition, Viola has started the Mister O1 Pizza School with classes offered in the Dallas or Grapevine location, according to the website. The class provides a three-hour hands-on experience that includes making dough, stretching techniques for the crust and how to pair ingredients, according to the website.
