Local officials have received complaints from residents that law enforcement is issuing tickets to individuals solely for violating city or county stay-at-home orders.
“My office has received numerous calls,” Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley announced. “Please know, police chiefs assure me that this is not happening.”
According to Whitley, any individual who receives a traffic citation in Tarrant County for violation of the stay-at-home order should contact 817-884-1441 and email a copy of the citation to [email protected].
Additionally, officers in the city of Roanoke will not stop individuals driving in city limits solely to ask for documentation citing that they should be away from their residence, said Detective Sandra Pettigrew with the Roanoke Police Department.
