As a result of redistricting that took place last year, many Fort Worth residents will be residing in new City Council districts. To help these residents confirm their district designation, the city created a new district mapping tool.
Once residents log on to Fort Worth's City Council districts website, which can be found on the 2023 general election site, they can enter their address in a search window at the upper left corner of the screen. A slider in the middle of the screen can be used to view a resident’s current and future district.
Since many neighborhood associations and homeowners associations are also in new districts, users can select to see neighborhood associations from a menu of layer options on the right side of the screen.
According to a city press release, Fort Worth voters approved an amendment to the city charter in 2016 to increase the number of City Council members from nine to 11 following the completion of the 2020 census. Council appointed a redistricting task force in August 2020, and a final redistricting map was approved last spring.
