The city of Keller approved plans to move forward with a pedestrian connection along Whitley Road to Bear Creek Park.
At its March 1 meeting, Keller City Council directed city officials to move forward with the approximately $500,000 connection for Westpark and Flanigan Hill residents to have easier access to Bear Creek Park, according to the city’s March 4 newsletter.
“For years, residents along Whitley Road have asked for [a] sidewalk and trail connection from Whitley to Bear Creek so that families can safely walk to Bear Creek Park,” Keller Mayor Armin Mizani wrote in a Facebook post. “We heard you.”
The trail connection will be done in conjunction with the Whitley and Bear Creek Parkway roundabout project, which began construction in November, according to a website post by the city. Construction on the trail connection will start “later this year,” the newsletter states.
