1. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
The sushi spot held a grand opening Feb. 13 and features a revolving sushi bar, and express belt, where diners can place orders from more than 100 menu items using the touch panel tablet at their table, and Bikkura Pon prizes, which are dispensed after 15 plates are ordered.
2. Berry Best BBQ
The owners of Berry Best BBQ, located in North Richland Hills, has rebranded as Lil JJ’s Smokehouse and relocated to a spot along I-35, just west of Alliance Town Center, which was formerly occupied by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.
The menu offers several barbecue staples such as brisket, sausage, ribs and chicken.
Coming soon:
1. Juiceland
Austin-based Juiceland will be heading to North Fort Worth inside the H-E-B grocery store to provide healthy, plant-based menu options.
Besides cold-pressed juices and smoothies, the company’s website states the menu also includes smoothie bowls; energy shots, tonics and lattes; and plant-based meals.
2. Urban Egg
The local "daytime eatery" is opening just west of Alliance Town Center and will feature breakfast and lunch items, shareables and healthy options.
The website states the menu includes the following breakfast and lunch such as cinnamon rolls, blue corn huevos rancheros, omelettes and benedicts.
3. The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque
The Trophy Club restaurant signed a multi-year agreement to become the official BBQ partner of Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth and will open an infield restaurant during the May 2-4 Würth 400 NASCAR tripleheader weekend, according to a news release.
The infield location will be open throughout the 2025 events season. The menu at Texas Motor Speedway will offer brisket, turkey breast, pulled pork and the original and jalapeño cheddar sausage.
4. Kurogi Ramen and Sushi
The sushi spot is slated to open a new location just south of the Texas Motor Speedway on SH 114.
Kurogi Ramen and Sushi which has another location in Northlake in the Northlake Commons shopping center, features sushi, ramen, poke bowls and desserts.
5. Chick-fil-A
A new Chick-fil-A restaurant will be located on US 287 just south of Avondale-Haslet Road. This will be the fifth Chick-fil-A restaurant in the Northeast Fort Worth area.
Worth the trip:
For those traveling through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, there are a couple of new eateries that will be opening up soon.
1. Smoothie King, Peach Cobbler Factory
According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Smoothie King and Peach Cobbler Factory is coming to Terminal D.
The owner listed is Ray Mickens, a Texas A&M standout who played in the National Football League from 1996 to 2007 with three teams.
Smoothie King's website states the menu categories range from "get fit" and "be well" smoothies to smoothie bowls. Peach Cobbler Factory will sell cobblers, brownies, Belgian waffles, churro sticks with dipping sauce, cookies and cinnamon rolls, according to its website.
2. Dude, Sweet Chocolate
According to a news release from DFW Airport, the sweet treats stop will open near Gate D10. However, an opening date was not announced. Airport officials said the opening date is dependent on the vendor.
Dude, Sweet Chocolate, a Bishop Arts-based artisan chocolatier, sells chef-driven dark chocolate creations such as fudges, truffles, toffees, hazelnut spreads and candied bacon in dark chocolate.
