At the Dec. 3 regular meeting, the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court approved the early polling locations and election day polling locations for the Jan. 28 runoff election for the state House District 28 seat.
Voters can cast a ballot between Democrat Eliz Markowitz and Republican Gary Gates, who were the top two candidates in the Nov. 5 special election for District 28, which covers Fulshear, Simonton, and portions of the Katy area and Sugar Land.
Markowitz and Gates received the highest number of votes in the Nov. 5 special election, but no single candidate in the race received more than 50% of the vote. Because of this, Markowitz and Gates have proceeded to a runoff election.
