Riley won the Montgomery County Precinct 2 commissioner race with 43,108 of the votes, or 78.5 percent, with all precincts reporting. His Democratic opponent Keichline holds 11,804 of the votes, or 21.5 percent.
"I'm just thrilled that the people of Precinct 2 trusted me and came out to vote. I appreciate their support, and I look forward to the next four years of continuing to make the quality of life and everything in Precinct 2 better than what it's ever been," Riley said.
Riley has been the Precinct 2 commissioner for four years and is a 47-year resident of Precinct 2. He has previously served on the Magnolia ISD board of trustees.
"You never take anything for granted, and you never know how any kind of election is going to turn out. We got in front of as many folks as we could. We don't do anything halfway, and that's how we took this election," Riley said. "We didn't back off, and we're never going to back off. We're going to do everything we can to our fullest potential, and that's how we plan to operate from this point on. That's how we've always done it, and we're going to continue doing it that way."
He said he applauds the way Keichline ran his race for Precinct 2 commissioner.
"He ran his race, and he ran his race cleaner than some of the other folks that run their races. I appreciate that," Riley said.
