Here's three road projects to keep an eye on in Tomball.

1. Holderrieth Road reconstruction

Harris County Precinct 3 crews are widening Holderrieth Road in Tomball from two asphalt lanes to a four-lane concrete boulevard between Hwy. 249 to just west of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. The project is also expected to improve drainage efficiency.

2. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road, Segment 2

Harris County Precinct 3 officials said a project to widen a portion of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road should begin construction by the end of the year. Segment 2 spans from south of Rolling Glen Lane to north of Ezekiel Road and will reconstruct the two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane concrete boulevard with a sidewalk. The project is anticipated to improve safety, traffic capacity, drainage efficiency and pedestrian mobility, according to Precinct 3 information. The segment is in design but was expected to complete the design phase in the second quarter of 2023.

3. Stop signs installed at Market Street

Harris County Precinct 3 installed new stop signs at the intersection of South Cherry and Market streets June 17, making the intersection a four-way stop. Traffic previously only stopped on Market Street heading east and west at Cherry Street.
