Tomball ISD trustees approved the next steps for multiple 2021 bond projects, including selecting the architect and builder for two new schools, on Jan. 9.

In a nutshell

Trustees unanimously approved Huckabee as the architect for a two-story fifth grade expansion of Creekside Park Junior High School, which is expected to open in the 2026-27 school year. Huckabee’s services will be paid for using 2021 bond funds, according to meeting documents.

Tomball ISD announced a new plan for the CPJHS expansion instead of a stand-alone intermediate school previously proposed following months of parent backlash over the placement of a proposed intermediate school.

The altered plan is expected to save the district “upwards of $20 million” and also alleviate parent concerns about the proposed Intermediate School No. 5 increasing commute times from the Creekside area.
