"We’re excited to welcome Akashi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar, which has well-earned praise from diners for its menu of delicious Chinese and Japanese fare. Food and beverage will be a big part of Magnolia Village, and we’re looking forward to bringing a variety of tasty options to this prime location," said Gerald Crump, Gulf Coast chief operating officer, in the news release.
Akashi signed a lease for a 5,900-square-foot space, but there is no anticipated opening date yet, according to the release.
The Magnolia location will be the 10th Greater Houston-area location for the full-service restaurant that is family-owned and -operated, according to the release. Akashi serves sushi rolls with fresh, seasonal ingredients, soups, salads and noodles. It also offers takeout and catering.
Gulf Coast is preparing the Magnolia Village site, including creating a shared detention pond, according to the release.
