Conroe ISD began accepting names from the public on April 20 for new buildings in the district, including an elementary school in the Grand Oaks High School feeder area as well as one serving the Caney Creek High School and Conroe High School feeder areas, according to Sarah Blakelock, director of communications for CISD.

Flex 22, located on Lexington Boulevard in the Grand Oaks feeder area, will open in August 2023 for grades K-4.

Flex 23, located in the vicinity of FM 1484 and Airport Road, and serving the Caney Creek and Conroe high school feeder areas, will open in 2024 for grades K-4.

The district will also open the naming process for miscellaneous facilities, such as a maintenance facility under construction, Blakelock said at an April 19 meeting of the board of trustees. Names could honor a person, place or geographic area among the possibilities, she said.

Names will be solicited through May 13. On May 17, the board will be presented with name submissions, and on June 21, it will decide on a name either from the suggestions or from its own deliberations.

Residents in Conroe ISD can submit name suggestions on the district's website.
