Conroe ISD Superintendent Curtis Null said the district has entered COVID-19 safety alert Level 3 during a video update Jan. 3.

According to the district, Level 3 calls for enhanced cleaning protocols and size limits on indoor activities. In addition, the district recommends the use of masks at safety alert Level 3.

CISD was previously at alert Level 2, which indicates a lower level of danger to students and staff.

"We know that our protocols works and that we can keep our schools safe and open," Null said during the video update.

Null said all CISD schools are equipped with IVP air cleaning systems in cafeterias. In addition, smaller units are located throughout the schools.

"These units clean and kill not only COVID-19, but all of the airborne viruses and bacterias in our schools, helping us all to remain healthy," Null said. "We will continue to monitor the impact of COVID[-19] in our community, and.we will move to Level 4 if it is necessary in the coming weeks."
