Montgomery County's active COVID-19 case count rose by six June 11, as the total case count rose by 35, offset by 29 new recoveries, according to the county public health district and office of emergency management.

The county's total case count now sits at 1,197, including 431 active cases and 734 recoveries. The county had reported 425 active cases and 705 recoveries June 10.


Eleven county residents remain hospitalized June 11, up from nine June 10. The county's overall hospitalization rate now sits at 2.55%.


County health officials noted in their daily case report that hospitals throughout the region are admitting an increasing number of COVID-19 patients and advised residents to continue following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines related to COVID-19. Recommendations include wearing a face mask and keeping at least 6 feet apart from others in public, washing hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, and carrying hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
