Several businesses in The Woodlands area offering food or beverages opened in May or announced upcoming openings this year.
Spill the Tea Nutrition
Spill The Tea Nutrition specializes in energy-based drinks ranging from loaded teas, protein shakes and snacks with no added sugars. The smoothie bar held its grand opening on Memorial Day, officials said.
Sweetwaters Coffee & TeaOperator Heather Martin confirmed the locally owned coffeehouse will open a second location on Honea Egypt Road in mid-to-late July. The sister spot will be drive-thru-only and offer items from its classic cafe menu as well as globally influenced coffees.
The original Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea location is on 9511 FM 1488.
Turquoise Wine BarTurquoise Wine Bar is planning to open this fall in The Woodlands, owner René Murphy said. The business offers wine by the glass, wine flights, sangrias and spritzes as well as nonalcoholic beverages and food items, such as small bites, bruschettas, salads, pizzas and desserts, according to the franchise website.
Murphy said the patio will also be pet-friendly, and a "Bark-Uterie Board" will be provided for pet snacks and cheeses.
MilkShake FactoryA new MilkShakeFactory location held a grand opening May 30 in The Woodlands at Cochran’s Crossing Village Center. The Woodlands store is owned and operated by franchisees Paul and Lisa Winslow.
Founded in 1914 as a soda fountain and chocolate shop, MilkShake Factory offers chocolate treats, such as chocolate barks and cake pops, as well as a variety of milkshakes. The company’s signature milkshakes include the Chocolate Cake Shake, Campfire S’mores and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry.
Zio Al’s Pizza & PastaZio Al's is scheduled to open in Metropark Square, according to information from Visit Shenandoah, the city's visitor and convention bureau. According to signage on the building, it will be located in a space formerly occupied by Peacora Jewelry.
The franchise is known for pizza, including build-your-own options, and Italian comfort food served late into the night, according to its website.
