The details

Lane will be teaching at Woodland Lane Ceramics and Art Studio in Magnolia, a studio he owns with his wife, ceramicist Kinsey Lane.

Classes will be held Aug. 19-Sept. 16, Monday-Friday from 6-8 p.m. Instruction is designed for all levels and beginners are welcome.

With a class size limited to 12 students, students will learn about art elements such as how to use texture, color theory, light and shadow in art as well as the foundations of drawing in colored pencil. The studio also offers a variety of pottery classes.

“Many people think colored pencils are for children,” Lane said. “But colored pencils can create exquisite artwork in stunning detail."
