The southbound lane of the Grand Parkway will be closed between West Airport Boulevard and Hwy. 90A beginning Friday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. for crews to make roadway repairs, according to a Feb. 10 news release from the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority.

The closure is for a brief pavement repair project that will be elevated to a larger asphalt resurfacing and road widening project later this year, FBCTRA Deputy Operating Officer Lisa Castañeda said in a Feb. 16 email. The roadway is scheduled to reopen Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.

“Travelers are advised to either avoid the area or follow the detour signs,” the release stated.

Similarly, another area along the Grand Parkway near the Fulshear area will be closed all weekend, Castañeda said. The closure will happen at the intersection of Westpark Tollway, where two connector roads are being built that will travel east and westbound from Westpark Tollway to the Grand Parkway northbound. Due to this project, the intersection will likely be closed every weekend for the next month, Castañeda said.
