Fossil Wash

The Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land is offering kids a chance to be paleontologists for a day. Children, accompanied by an adult, can search for bone fragments in recently excavated dirt and participate in other dinosaur-related activities.

Sugar Land Town Square Fall Fest

The fall festival invites families to participate in seasonal activities, including pumpkin patches, hay rides and festive foods.

Oktoberfest

The German celebration at Quail Valley City Centre will showcase festival favorites such as traditional food and drinks, wiener dog races and live music.

Hispanic Heritage Month art class

Residents 14 and older are invited to this art class at the Sienna Branch Library to interactively learn Spanish and paint a Sugar Skull cat. Registration is required and opens August 30.

Missouri City Job Fair

The city of Missouri City is hosting a job fair at the city's community center for residents to meet hiring companies face-to-face, learn about available positions and network with recruiters.

Roots, Boots and Bling fundraiser

Country chic meets charity fundraiser at this event for Family Roots of Life, a nonprofit that provides social services to young children. The Western-themed gathering will feature cocktails, music, dancing and dinner.

Backyard Gardening Workshop

Fort Bend Master Gardener Lauren Martin is leading the free workshop in collaboration with Missouri City Green, covering the best ways to prepare gardens for fall and winter.

Golf Fore Autism tournament

The 10th annual tournament will be hosted at the Sweetwater Country Club and will feature a charitable golf tournament, creative contests, raffles as well as wine and whisky pulls.
