For individuals, families and business owners who have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and need financial assistance, Fort Bend County is hosting an upcoming grant expo.

From 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Houston Community College-Southwest Campus, 1600 Texas Parkway, Missouri City, Fort Bend County Judge KP George and U.S. Rep. Al Green will host the expo with an additional on-site drive-thru food distribution available through the Houston Food Bank, according to a Feb. 16 announcement.

Grants available through the county include rental, utility, small business recovery, emergency and supportive food assistance along with child care vouchers and employer hiring incentives, according to the announcement.

In addition, the Fort Bend County Department of Health and Human Services will be available to administer COVID-19 vaccines to adults and teens age 12 and up with booster shots available for eligible residents, according to the announcement.

Fort Bend County will also offer drive-thru COVID-19 testing in the Missouri City City Hall parking lot. Fort Bend County Behavioral and Social Services and several nonprofit organizations will also be on hand to provide information and assistance to residents, according to the announcement.
