The restaurant held a ribbon-cutting event with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce followed by its grand opening Oct. 27 at 1525 Lake Pointe Parkway, Ste. 400, co-owners Shawn and Vanshika Vipin told Community Impact. The ribbon-cutting had over 50 people in attendance, including community leaders, business owners, friends and family members as well as officials such as Sugar Land Mayor Joe R. Zimmerman; Sugar Land City Council Members Naushad Kermally, Suzanne Trochta Whatley, Carol McCutcheon and Stewart Jacobson; and Fort Bend County Judge KP George.
The ribbon-cutting and grand opening follow the poke restaurant’s soft opening Sept. 2.
“Ever since, it's been a tremendous response,” Vanshika said. “People have loved our food.”
The restaurant serves poke bowls, sushi donuts and sushi burritos along with a secret menu consisting of sushi corn dogs, fried Brussels sprouts, and Tokyo fries with a soon-to-be-introduced sushi pizza. Poke Burri also has beer, wine and sake and will soon introduce a full bar. 832-648-7653. www.pokeburri.com.
