Morelia Gourmet Paletas recently leased space at 16155 City Walk, Sugar Land, and is expected to open a storefront in December. The business sells paletas, a Mexican frozen treat on a stick that can be dipped into a variety of sauces and toppings. The Sugar Land store will be the company's first Texas location. Morelia Gourmet Paletas has locations in Florida, North Carolina, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. The Sugar Land location does not yet have a phone number. www.paletasmorelia.com
Candy Shack Daiquiris held a soft opening for its Missouri City location Nov. 2. Located at 6850 Hwy. 6, Ste. 700, Missouri City, the business is owned by Adil Surani and Saalik Patel. Candy Shack Daiquiris serves 11 classic flavors and a variety of mixed creations alongside a food menu with chicken strips, wings, catfish, shrimp and fries. The Nines Thai Cuisine had its grand opening Oct. 18 at 203 Century Square Blvd., Ste. 150, Sugar Land. The restaurant specializes in authentic Thai cuisine and has different menus for lunch and dinner, with the lunch menu featuring smaller portions.
