Fort Bend County has reported a total of 1,404 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of May 12, including a total of 240 recoveries and 40 deaths.

County Judge KP George has been providing daily case count updates via Facebook, and the county continues to update its Community Impact Dashboard with new information daily.

On May 12, the county reported 19 new cases, four recoveries and two additional deaths.

The Fort Bend County residents who died were a man in his 80s and a man in his 40s, both with underlying health conditions, George wrote on Facebook. The man in his 40s becomes the youngest person to have died from the virus in the county.

A total of 138 Sugar Land residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 222 Missouri city residents have tested positive for the virus.



At the ZIP code level, Missouri City ZIP code 77459 has 207 confirmed cases, the most of any Fort Bend County ZIP code.

However, Richmond ZIP code 77469 continues to report new cases and now has a total of 196 confirmed cases.
