The Baker’s Son, a Filipino bakery, opened in the Seafood City Supermarket late last year.

The gist

The family-owned bakery offers Filipino bread and sweet treats such as cakes, pastries, pandesal—a traditional Filipino bread roll—and other desserts, owner Jun Valerio said. The business also includes a beverage bar.

Valerio said he focuses on serving Filipino items with a twist, such as:
  • Cheese rolls with ube, which is purple yam
  • Dubai chocolate croissants, which are filled with knafeh and pistachio, coated in chocolate and sprinkled with crushed pistachios
