A nutrition supplement manufacturing facility in Sugar Land has announced it has completed an expansion project.

Bluebonnet Nutrition Corp., headquartered in Sugar Land, has announced it has opened its doors Dec. 12 after completing the construction of its third Sugar Land location, a 128,000-square-foot facility, according to the announcement.

Houston developer Midway, developer of Houston’s CityCentre and Century Square, led efforts to complete the $18 million project, which triples the company’s workforce of 100 employees by adding 200 new jobs, according to the announcement.

“We are thrilled to spearhead the development of Bluebonnet’s new state-of-the-art facility in Sugar Land,” said Chris Seckinger, vice president of investment and development for Midway, in the announcement. “Midway has a longstanding, trusting relationship with Bluebonnet, and we are honored to partner with them over 20 years later to further expand their footprint.”

According to the announcement, the expanded Bluebonnet Nutrition Corp. location will be used as a mixture of office, research and development, and manufacturing space. Bluebonnet’s new product is adding more capacity in the capsule and tablet unit with anticipated inventory values at $11 million.

The announcement comes as Bluebonnet Corp. was approved for an additional $6 million investment in the form of testing and research labs.
