In mid-April, Harris County Precinct 3 officials began maintenance work on two bridges in the Spring and Klein area, officials announced in an April 11 news release.
The two bridges under construction include the Louetta Road bridge over Kothman Gully and the Oxted Lane bridge over Harris County Flood Control District's ditch K137-00-00. According to the release, repairs will include addressing erosion issues and repaving slopes to ensure safety and extend the life of the bridges.
Precinct 3 officials noted both bridges will remain open during construction, and work is expected to be complete by the end of April.
According to the release, the projects are the first in a series of three bridge improvement packages totaling $1 million funded by Precinct 3 that will cover 47 bridges across Cypress, Spring, Humble and Crosby. Per the release, each of these bridges was assessed by Precinct 3's engineering and maintenance team and was identified for maintenance based on deficiencies identified in the Texas Department of Transportation's Bridge Inventory, Inspection, and Appraisal Program report, which is released every two years.
